Nintendo's official store page lists The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a remake built from the ground up for Nintendo Switch 2, launching November 5, 2026, as a console exclusive. The digital version costs $59.99 and the physical version $69.99, with an estimated file size of 27 GB. The 1998 classic has been rebuilt for the new system.

Presentation has been overhauled throughout: remade visuals, a full orchestral score, fully voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue, and enhanced controls with modern camera movement.

Among the new features, players can play the ocarina with button controls as before, or hum, or even play their own instruments, into the Nintendo Switch 2 microphone. Nintendo's October 14 overview trailer also introduced the new Hall of Fallen Heroes, where statues of defeated monsters can be viewed and boss fights replayed.

The game supports ZELDA NOTES, a game-specific service in the Nintendo Switch App that tracks daily accomplishments and challenges. Buying the digital version before 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on November 23 comes with a Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary digital wallpaper as an early-purchase bonus.

Nintendo is also releasing a Legend of Zelda special edition Switch 2 system. Two new amiibo, Young Link and Young Zelda, are due in 2027, and existing Legend of Zelda series amiibo can be tapped for in-game extras.
