Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

Arkansas's Department of Finance and Administration reported on November 3 that total tax collections for the first four months of the fiscal year, July through October 2026, reached $2.855 billion, up 0.9% from a year earlier and $153.7 million, or 5.7%, above the budget forecast. Individual income tax revenue was $1.147 billion, up 2.3% and 2.2% above forecast; sales tax revenue was $1.309 billion, up 7.9% and 3.9% above forecast; and corporate income tax revenue was $196.6 million, up $66.5 million from a year earlier and $64.5 million above forecast.

For October alone, collections were $692.5 million, up 10% year over year and 7% above the monthly forecast. Department Secretary Jim Hudson said October revenue rose by more than $63 million from a year earlier and beat the monthly forecast by $45 million, driven mainly by continued sales tax growth and a shift in income tax payment timing. The department will update its full-year revenue forecast on November 6. Arkansas closed the previous fiscal year with a $655 million surplus.
