Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

Georgia polls were open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 3, and anyone in line by 7 p.m. could vote; on Election Day voters had to use their assigned precinct. The two marquee statewide races were Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff against Republican challenger Mike Collins, and Republican Rick Jackson against Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms for governor, succeeding Gov. Brian Kemp. The ballot also included lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, all 14 U.S. House seats and the full General Assembly. Early voting set a midterm record: the Secretary of State's unofficial totals showed 2,827,060 Georgians had already voted, including 2,705,259 in-person early ballots by the October 30 close, more than 415,000 above 2022, plus nearly 130,000 accepted mail absentee ballots, an overall early turnout of 37.6%. Cobb County also set a record with 227,308 early ballots, up 45,922 from 2022, and Towns County led the state at 52.2% early turnout. Voters could check registration, precinct and sample ballots on the Secretary of State's My Voter Page; any required runoff is set for December 1.
