Florida Governor Election: AP Projects Byron Donalds Wins

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3 that Republican Byron Donalds has won the Florida governor's race, defeating Democratic candidate David Jolly to become governor of Florida.
When the AP made the call, 5,502 of Florida's 5,634 precincts had reported, or 97.66%, with counting nearly complete. Donalds had 4,065,486 votes to Jolly's 3,963,591, a margin of about 102,000 votes; none of the other six candidates exceeded 40,000 votes, with Libertarian Scott Jewett at 37,039. The figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.
Donalds currently serves as a U.S. representative from Florida, and Jolly is a former U.S. representative from the state. This year's Florida governor's race was an open-seat contest; incumbent Governor Ron DeSantis was not among the candidates.
The governor's race was held statewide on the same day as the federal Senate and House elections, with Tallahassee as the state capital.
