Georgia Senate Election: AP Projects Ossoff Wins Re-election

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3 that Democratic incumbent U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff has won re-election in Georgia, defeating Republican challenger Mike Collins.
When the AP made the call, 983 of Georgia's 2,582 precincts had reported, or 38.07%, with an estimated 71.95% of the total vote counted. Ossoff had 1,913,264 votes to Collins's 1,251,983, a margin of about 660,000 votes. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.
Ossoff first took office as a U.S. senator from Georgia in 2021, and this victory gives him a second six-year term. Collins, a U.S. representative from Georgia, was the Republican nominee. Georgia was one of the key battlegrounds in this year's fight for control of the U.S. Senate.
The Senate race was held statewide on the same day as the governor's and U.S. House elections, with Atlanta as the state capital.
