Kentucky Senate Election: AP Projects Andy Barr Wins

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3 that Republican Andy Barr has won Kentucky's U.S. Senate election, defeating Democratic candidate Charles Booker.

When the AP made the call, 2,427 of Kentucky's 3,189 precincts had reported, or 76.11%, with an estimated 76.12% of the total vote counted. Barr had 674,713 votes, Booker 539,900 and Kentucky Party candidate Christopher Campbell 25,842. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.

This year's Kentucky Senate race was an open-seat contest for the seat long held by Mitch McConnell. Barr currently serves as a U.S. representative from Kentucky.

The Senate race was held statewide on the same day as the House elections, with Frankfort as the state capital.
