Colorado Senate Election: AP Projects John Hickenlooper Wins Reelection

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Associated Press projected on the evening of November 3 that Democratic U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper has won Colorado's U.S. Senate election, defeating Republican candidate Mark Baisley to win reelection.

An AP results snapshot showed 3,073 of Colorado's 4,230 precincts reporting, or 72.65%, with an estimated 72.66% of the total vote counted. Hickenlooper had 1,161,576 votes to Baisley's 653,476, with four other candidates each below 48,000 votes. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.

Hickenlooper, a former Colorado governor and Denver mayor, was first elected to the Senate in 2020. The win gives him a second term in the Senate.

The Senate race was held statewide on the same day as the governor's and U.S. House elections, with Denver as the state capital.
