Tennessee Senate Election: AP Calls Race for Hagerty, Who Wins Re-election

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Associated Press called Tennessee's U.S. Senate race on the evening of November 3 for Republican incumbent Senator Bill Hagerty, who defeated Democratic challenger Marquita Bradshaw to win re-election. Tennessee is in the southeastern United States, and its capital is Nashville.

The AP results page showed 1,615 of the state's 1,817 precincts reporting, about 88.88%, with an estimated 88.92% of votes counted; Hagerty had 1,088,408 votes to Bradshaw's 860,111, and the eight independent candidates each had fewer than 9,000 votes. Counting is continuing; the figures are unofficial and final results are subject to certification by state election officials.

Hagerty was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2020 and previously served as U.S. ambassador to Japan; Bradshaw, an environmental justice activist from Memphis, also ran against Hagerty for the same seat in 2020. With Hagerty's win, Republicans continue to hold both of Tennessee's U.S. Senate seats.
