LeBron James Crashes Into a Fan's Wine Mid-Game, Takes a Sip and Runs Back

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · Society · GSM News

In the third quarter of the Philadelphia 76ers' 126-107 home win over the Chicago Bulls at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on the night of November 2, LeBron James, 41, chased a pass out of bounds, crashed into a courtside fan and spilled the man's wine — then picked up the cup, took a sip, and ran back onto the court. Broadcast cameras caught the moment, and it spread rapidly on X that night.

Tyrese Maxey's hit-ahead pass had sailed out of bounds, and James, unable to stop, ran past the stanchion into Troy Clemons, a longtime 76ers season-ticket holder who was walking back to his seat. Wine went everywhere. ESPN reporter Kris Rhim found Clemons after the game: Clemons said James grabbed him, said "My bad," took his cup, took a sip, handed it back and ran back onto the court. Clemons said he then threw the cup in the trash and got a fresh drink, adding that James is "another man like me."

James finished with 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds as Philadelphia improved to 7-1. Asked about the sip afterward by Rhim, he said: "I spilled some of his wine. I crashed into him, spilled some of his wine. So I wanted to see if it was worth it on my arm and how good it was. It was all right."

Clips shared by accounts including NBA on Prime spread quickly — one repost passed 125,000 views within its first hour — and multiple U.S. outlets followed up on November 3. James is in his 24th NBA season, now with the Philadelphia 76ers.
