Compton's 71st Annual Christmas Parade Set for December 12
The City of Compton, in Los Angeles County, California, has announced that its 71st Annual Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 12, and invited residents to join the celebration.
The Compton Christmas Parade is one of the city's longest-running traditions: according to the city, the parade has been one of Compton's most beloved holiday events for 70 years, drawing thousands of spectators each year, with floats, marching bands, dance groups and community organizations lining the streets, and generations of residents growing up with it.
The city's notice announced only the edition and the date; the start time, route and grand marshal for this year's parade have not yet been announced. In past years the parade has traveled along Compton Blvd from Bullis Rd to Alameda St; this year's arrangements will follow the city's website updates.
