Pet Adoption Event in La Quinta November 7-8: Fees Waived, Including Spay/Neuter, Vaccines and Microchip
The Riverside County Department of Animal Services said on November 3 that it will take part in nonprofit Petco Love's national pet adoption weekend, bringing adoptable pets to the Petco store in La Quinta, Riverside County, California (78720 CA-111, La Quinta, CA 92253), on November 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and inviting community members to meet pets looking for loving homes.
All adoption fees are waived during the event, and every adoption includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and an engraved name tag. The national campaign, run by Petco Love in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and featuring characters from the new animated film The Cat in the Hat (in theaters November 6), encourages people to adopt from local shelters and rescues.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to meet amazing pets, each deserving of a loving place to call home," said RCDAS Director Mary Martin. "We encourage the community to jump into joy by adopting your new best friend." Petco Love President Chelsea Staley said adopting a pet brings joy and possibility into daily life, filling homes with love, laughter, and moments of happiness.
Petco Love has helped find loving homes for more than 7.2 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 animal welfare partner organizations nationwide, and has invested more than $442 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts since 1999. The Riverside County Department of Animal Services shelters more than 35,000 animals annually across four locations, making it one of the largest sheltering systems in the country, and provides adoption, lost pet reunification, pet support services, and public safety programs.
