35th St. Louis International Film Festival Runs Through November 15 With Oscar-Qualifying Shorts Program

The 35th St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF) is under way in St. Louis, Missouri, and runs through November 15. The festival is presented by the nonprofit arts organization Cinema St. Louis and has been held since 1992, presenting global stories locally and elevating independent film.
According to the organizer, SLIFF is one of approximately 85 film festivals in the United States sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Its annual Short Film Spotlight is a juried competition, and winning one of its Best of awards makes a short film eligible for an Oscar nomination.
This week's program includes the documentary Kenny Loggins: Conviction of the Heart on November 7 at 7 p.m., with filmmaker Dori Berinstein, and Chasing Hollywood: A Marketing Chief's Lessons on November 8 at 11 a.m., with Gerry Rich. Screenings are held at venues across St. Louis, with individual tickets, passes and packages available.
The full film guide, schedule and ticket information are on the festival's official site, festivals.cinemastlouis.org. (Source: Cinema St. Louis and the St. Louis International Film Festival official site)
