Salvation Army of North Texas Launches Holiday Drive: $1.6 Million Red Kettle Goal, Angel Tree Adoptions Start November 3

The Salvation Army of North Texas has launched this year's Give With Joy holiday fundraising and programming campaign, urging North Texans to support neighbors combatting poverty, addiction and homelessness. The organization is the region's largest social services provider, with a footprint across six North Texas counties and 4,000 square miles.
The Red Kettles are at the center of the drive. In 2024, the Salvation Army of North Texas raised more than $1.5 million through its Red Kettles, exceeding its annual goal; this year's goal has been raised to $1.6 million. The Army says Red Kettle funds provide immediate help with food and shelter while supporting stability and self-sufficiency through comprehensive case management.
Its Angel Tree is the organization's largest program of its kind in the world. Residents can adopt an Angel by county, providing holiday gifts for local children, seniors and adults with special needs. Angels became available for adoption in person at participating locations or online starting November 3, and gifts are dropped off at drive-thru locations on December 5-6.
The Salvation Army also reported last year's North Texas service totals: nearly 4 million pounds of food distributed to more than 80,000 people through food pantries, shelters and community meals; more than 264,000 nights of safe shelter; addiction recovery services for around 500 individuals; and nearly 1,600 individuals connected to permanent, stable housing.
"Known widely as the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, the holiday season can be stressful financially and emotionally for so many," said Major Rob Webb, area commander for the Salvation Army of North Texas. "We rely greatly on community generosity to meet the needs our most vulnerable neighbors are facing not only during the holidays, but year-round. We invite North Texans to embrace our Give With Joy campaign; a simple act of kindness goes a long way during the season of giving."
Nearly half of the Salvation Army's annual raised revenue comes between October and December, making the holiday season vital to sustaining operations into 2026. Beyond donating, residents can register to ring a bell at a Red Kettle, start a virtual Red Kettle, or volunteer at a local facility.
