Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition Lands on Switch 2 November 5: Native Version Replaces the Cloud Release at $39.99

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, with the Nintendo store listing giving a release date of November 5, 2026, and a digital price of $39.99. The edition is exclusive to Switch 2.
The original game was developed by Eidos-Montréal and released in 2021 for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. On Nintendo hardware it previously reached the first Switch only as a cloud streaming version; the Encore Edition is the first native version of the game on a Nintendo console and does not rely on streaming.
The Encore Edition includes the full game and all previously released digital content, plus exclusive additions: a new set of 1980s glam rock-inspired outfits for Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot. The Switch 2 version also adds mouse controls and gyroscope motion support.
For display output, TV mode offers two settings: a Quality mode targeting 1440p at 30fps and a Performance mode targeting 1080p at 40fps, while handheld play targets 30fps. The Nintendo store page lists an estimated file size of 45 GB, support for TV, tabletop and handheld modes and single-player play, with CDE Entertainment as publisher.
Players take the role of Star-Lord, leading the Guardians and calling the shots in and out of battle against a cosmic threat of their own making. This original take on the Guardians won Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2021.
