Britney Spears Blasts Sister Jamie Lynn and Ex Kevin Federline in Instagram Post: 'They Made Me Feel Like a Slave'

American pop singer Britney Spears called out her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline in an Instagram post on November 1, saying the two had made her feel 'like a slave' during past family visits and writing twice that she would 'find a new family.' The post was picked up by multiple U.S. entertainment outlets on November 2.
Spears wrote: 'I will find a new family !!! Jamie Lynn never let me hold Ivy one time when I would visit in Louisiana during covid in two week trips and Kevin wouldn’t let me use the bathroom when I would pick my children up in their house !!! They made me feel like a slave and have all their secret things they did behind my back and all I ever did was work for my dad !!! I will find a new family !!!' The post was accompanied by a screenshot from the 2003 film Uptown Girls showing Dakota Fanning's character raising a middle finger, and comments on the post were turned off.
The claims are Spears's own account and have not been independently established. According to Page Six, a source close to Jamie Lynn disputed the account involving Ivey, claiming that Spears had held her niece during a family visit and that 'Ivey loves her,' and adding that Jamie Lynn and her husband were not really concerned about the post.
Spears is 44. Her relationship with her family has been strained for years: she spent 13 years under a conservatorship that ended in November 2021, and in her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me she wrote about feeling abandoned by her family during that time. She married Federline in 2004 and they split in 2006; they share two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. In October, she shared photos from a family trip to Dollywood with her two sons.
