Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · States · GSM News

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, of King County, Washington, issued a statement on November 4 on the November 3 election results, celebrating voters' landslide support for the Seattle Transit Measure, which passed on November 3 with over 72% support. Wilson said voters sent a clear message that they want government to fight for working people and make life more affordable, and that locally, landslide support for the transit measure shows voters want world-class public transit that makes driving a choice, not a necessity.

Wilson also welcomed voters' rejection of a repeal of the Millionaire Tax, saying the tax will in a few years fund universal school meals across the state. She said Seattle hosted a Vote Center for the first time this year in Seattle City Hall, and that the lobby was packed with people lining up to vote. She also said she looks forward to working with newly elected District 5 City Council member Nilu Jenks.

Voters want to see their elected officials fighting to make daily life better and more affordable, Wilson said. City election officials say counting continues and final certified results will be officially announced.
