West Virginia Helps Marine Equipment Maker Oceanetics Expand, Adding 25 Full-Time Jobs

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · States · GSM News

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey announced on November 4 that the state Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council will assist the John D. Rockefeller Industrial Park in Pineville, Wyoming County, supporting an expansion by manufacturer Oceanetics that will add 25 new full-time jobs, more than doubling its workforce from 20 to 45 employees.

The investment will support construction of a new 15,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at the industrial park, which is owned and managed by the Wyoming County Economic Development Authority; the company also plans to invest $1.2 million in specialized manufacturing equipment. Construction is expected to begin shortly, with the facility anticipated to open in fall 2027. Oceanetics manufactures advanced maritime buoy systems, naval defense equipment and port security technologies, and the expansion will strengthen its production capacity in Wyoming County.

Wyoming County is in southern West Virginia, and the state has in recent years used the Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council to support local industrial parks, attract manufacturing investment and add local jobs. The state said the 25 new full-time jobs will bring stable employment to Pineville and surrounding communities, and the company's production scale will grow once the facility is built.
