Qatar Airways Inaugurates Doha Service to Caracas and Bogotá, Becoming the First Gulf Carrier in Venezuela

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · World · GSM News

Qatar Airways on November 4 inaugurated a new twice-weekly service connecting Doha with Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogotá, Colombia. Qatar News Agency reported that the service is a significant milestone for the airline: Qatar Airways becomes the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela, and the first airline to operate nonstop services from the Middle East to both Bogotá and Caracas.

The route is operated with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on a triangular routing linking the three capitals. With the addition of Caracas and Bogotá, Qatar Airways now serves 16 and 17 destinations in the Americas. The airline began serving South America in 2010 with its inaugural flight to São Paulo, Brazil.

Qatar Airways has also recently expanded its partnership with LATAM to include LATAM Airlines Colombia. The airline will place its code on LATAM-operated flights between Bogotá and 19 key domestic destinations, including Cartagena, Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Medellín and Santa Marta, offering travellers greater access to the region.

The airline said it continues to strengthen global connectivity, serving more than 170 destinations this winter.
