Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri announced that Darrion Boyd-Barnes, 29, of St. Louis, was sentenced on November 4, 2026, to 87 months in prison. U.S. District Judge Zachary M. Bluestone imposed the sentence. Boyd-Barnes, a convicted felon barred from possessing firearms, was caught with guns on three occasions after traffic stops.

On September 22, 2022, St. Louis police stopped Boyd-Barnes in a vehicle with an expired temporary tag. After officers discovered he had given a false name and had an active arrest warrant, they arrested him and found a loaded Glock 29 10mm pistol. On April 16, 2025, he was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for an improper license plate; he again had an active warrant, and officers found a loaded 9mm handgun.

On November 12, 2025, St. Louis police pulled Boyd-Barnes over in a Jeep after he ran three stop signs. When officers asked him to get out, he sped off to his girlfriend's house in St. Louis County, triggering a standoff involving multiple police agencies, and then escaped. Police found 29 firearms in the home, including AR-style pistols and rifles, a shotgun, multiple stolen pistols, and five pistols illegally converted into fully automatic weapons with machinegun conversion devices.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul D'Agrosa told the court that since the age of 18, Boyd-Barnes has been undeterred in his repeated unlawful possession of firearms and fleeing from police. Boyd-Barnes pleaded guilty in August 2026 to three counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case. (Source: U.S. Department of Justice)
