BLS Posts Final Second-Wave Occupational Requirements Survey Estimates in New Database

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) announced on November 4 that the final second-wave estimates from its Occupational Requirements Survey (ORS), with a reference year of 2023, are now available in a new BLS database. The XLSX dataset remains available as before.
BLS also noted a change to its series identifiers: the first two characters of the series ID for second-wave estimates will change from OR to OA, and the change applies to both the database and the dataset. Third-wave estimates will continue to use the OR characters. The bureau has published a guide, "Understanding ORS Series IDs," explaining series ID usage and formatting to help users distinguish the survey waves.
The Occupational Requirements Survey is a standing BLS program that measures the physical demands, education and training requirements, cognitive requirements and environmental conditions of occupations across the U.S. economy; its data are used in employment services, occupational safety and disability employment policy and research.
