IRVINE, Calif. - The City of Irvine's Public Works & Sustainability Department, in Orange County, California, on November 4 issued its roadway improvements and traffic advisories for November 4-11, 2026, summarizing road work, closures and lane controls across the city and advising residents to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
On freeways and arterials, Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) crews are performing asphalt work on MacArthur Boulevard beneath State Route 55, closing MacArthur in both directions under the freeway from 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 to 5 a.m. Thursday, November 5, as part of the SR-55 Improvement Project. Southbound SR-133 between the I-5 Freeway and Great Park Boulevard is closed through November 5 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, and the Portola Parkway on-ramp to southbound SR-241 closes November 5 and 6 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. OCTA's I-5 Improvement Project with Caltrans, from the I-405 Freeway to SR-55, also continues, with changing traffic patterns and possible lane and ramp closures.
City projects include underground infrastructure work beneath Portola Parkway starting Wednesday, November 18, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with temporary lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; street rehabilitation and slurry seal in the Quail Hill neighborhood, under way since November 2 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Orchard Hills Drive rehabilitation through November 30, weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and the Jamboree Road and Main Street intersection widening, continuing through winter on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The city said all work is weather permitting and delays should be expected near work zones.
