Qualcomm Fiscal Q4 Revenue Beats Estimates at $10.44 Billion as Handset Chip Sales Fall 26 Percent

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · Finance · GSM News

Qualcomm on November 4 reported results for its fiscal fourth quarter of 2026. Adjusted revenue fell 7 percent year over year to $10.44 billion, beating analyst estimates of about $10.11 billion, and adjusted earnings came in at $2.17 per share, just above estimates of $2.16.

The handset business was the main drag: revenue from smartphone chips fell 26 percent to $5.14 billion, below the $5.25 billion expected by analysts polled by Visible Alpha, dragging total chip-segment revenue down 8 percent to $9.02 billion. Global smartphone shipments fell 20 percent in the September quarter to a 14-year low, according to Counterpoint Research.

For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, Qualcomm forecast revenue between $10.4 billion and $11.2 billion, with the midpoint above the average analyst estimate of about $10.48 billion. It expects chip-segment sales between $9 billion and $9.6 billion, above estimates of $8.88 billion, and adjusted profit between $2.15 and $2.35 per share, with the midpoint below estimates of $2.27.

Chief Executive Cristiano Amon said sales of Android handsets are ticking upward again. He said the first-quarter forecast includes no further sales from Apple, while Qualcomm has been winning business beyond smartphones: revenue from two custom chip programs with hyperscalers begins in the current quarter, and growth in segments such as automotive and the internet of things is helping cushion the hit from sluggish demand in its core smartphone chips business. Qualcomm shares fell more than 4 percent in extended trading after the report.
