Run Malibu Half Marathon Runs November 8 on a New Course From CSU Channel Islands; In-Person 5K Canceled
The Run Malibu Half Marathon runs on Sunday, November 8, 2026, starting at 7 a.m. on a new course: from the campus of California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, Ventura County, California, through the Santa Monica Mountains to Pacific Coast Highway, then south along the coast past Thornhill Broome Beach to a finish just north of Mugu Rock. The race carries a 17-year legacy.
The race expo and packet pick-up run Saturday, November 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in El Dorado Park on the CSU Channel Islands campus at 1 University Drive, Camarillo, CA 93012. The half marathon course has seven aid stations and a four-hour time limit, with the finish line open until 11:30 a.m. and shuttles returning runners to campus parking after the finish festival.
One change runners should note: the in-person CSU Dolphin 5K scheduled for November 7 has been canceled. The organizer's official site says the cancellation is due to an unexpected staffing shortage at the host venue, and 5K participants should check their email for options. Half marathoners can still complete the 5K virtually as part of the Combo Challenge to earn a combo medal.
Organizers say $10 of every entry goes directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu, which has served local youth and families for over 25 years and now also works on long-term disaster recovery. Registration and full information are on the race's official site, runmalibu.com. (Source: Run Malibu)
