Infantino Family Used Miami Airport VIP Protocol 125 Times, Post Reports

The New York Post reported on November 5 that FIFA President Gianni Infantino's wife and daughters appear 125 times in Miami International Airport's protocol logs since January 2024, drawing accusations that he abused his position to secure VIP treatment normally reserved for senior diplomats.
According to records released to the Post, the family appears across 95 log entries, many listing more than one relative. His wife Leena appears 46 times, nearly twice the 24 entries for Infantino himself, and on 63 of the logged dates Infantino has no travel entry of his own. FIFA also requested protocol treatment for a trip by his daughters to Doha that included their dogs, the Post reported. Airport spokesman Greg Chin confirmed FIFA made the requests and that the service was granted.
Antoine Duval of the T.M.C. Asser Institute in The Hague said it could constitute an abuse of position if Infantino had FIFA arrange his family's private travel. A FIFA spokesperson said the requests were made on the advice of a former adviser, that port courtesies are provided free to the FIFA president as head of an association, and that family members may also request them case by case under the airport's handbook. No authority has issued a finding of wrongdoing. (Source: New York Post)
