Three Little Rock-Area Sonic Drive-Ins Rank in National Top 50; Foundation Gives $30,000 to Local Classrooms

Public school teachers in the Little Rock area will receive a total of $30,000 in classroom funding from the SONIC Foundation, honoring three local Sonic drive-ins that ranked in the national top 50 of the 2026 Dr Pepper SONIC Games. The foundation announced on November 5 that the donation will fund classroom projects submitted by Little Rock-area public school teachers through the teacher crowdfunding site DonorsChoose. The store at 2917 Cantrell Road in Little Rock ranked 12th in the nation, while stores in Monticello and Marshall also made the top 50. The SONIC Games are the company's annual employee training competition, and the foundation will donate a total of $500,000 to education projects in the communities of the top 50 stores. Sonic said part of the foundation's funding comes from donations built into every drink, slush and ice cream sale, supporting schools in store communities through partners such as DonorsChoose. The donation is open to public school teachers across the Little Rock area, who submit classroom needs on the platform, with funds going directly to those teaching projects.
