Former Arkansas court official faces 65 felony counts over alleged bar-exam score tampering

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

Arkansas prosecutor Will Jones announced on November 5 that Nancie Givens, former executive director of the state Supreme Court's Office of Professional Programs, faces 65 felony counts of tampering with a public record. Givens resigned in February. Prosecutors allege she improperly shifted bar-exam scores across at least eight exam administrations from 2020 to 2025 and deleted or modified about 11,400 files, including score sheets that were supposed to be kept for 25 years.

Givens pleaded not guilty on November 4. The FBI and Arkansas State Police have been investigating since April. The case is Arkansas v. Nancie Michelle Givens, No. 26-5292.
