Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Technology · GSM News

Atomic Canyon and the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory (INL) launched NuclearBench on November 5, the first open-source benchmark designed to test large language models on nuclear questions. It extends the earlier FermiBench.

Built around roughly 280 nuclear questions, NuclearBench scores model answers on both accuracy and faithfulness, aiming to give the nuclear industry a verifiable yardstick as it adopts super-intelligence (SI) tools. The benchmark is available as open source.
