Oregon leads four-state lawsuit against Trump administration over Medicaid work requirements

Oregon sued the Trump administration on November 5 over new federal Medicaid work requirements, joined by Minnesota, New Mexico and Washington. The defendants include the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and their leaders Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mehmet Oz.
The Oregon Health Authority estimates that about 182,000 of the roughly 564,000 Oregonians subject to the rules could lose coverage, with about 600,000 residents' benefits affected overall. The rules phase in from 2027. Attorney General Dan Rayfield issued a statement on the suit.
