Ohio Man Sentenced to Prison for Violating Supervised Release

Anton Marcel Jeffries, 32, of Akron, Ohio, was sentenced in federal court in Huntington, West Virginia, to one year and nine months in prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release, for violating supervised release. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia said the sentence is to be served consecutively to his state sentence.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on September 18, 2025, Jeffries was arrested and charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Jeffries was arrested after law enforcement officers investigated the source of a significant increase in drug overdoses in Charleston between September 17 and September 18, 2025. Jeffries pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl, in Kanawha County Circuit Court on September 14, 2026.
At the time of this offense, Jeffries was serving a term of supervised release following his conviction for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl in United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia on August 27, 2019. Jeffries began his term of supervised release on September 12, 2025, six days before his arrest.
United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers revoked Jeffries' supervised release and imposed the sentence following a hearing on October 26, 2026. United States Attorney Moore Capito made the announcement and commended the investigative work of the Charleston Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah N. Hudson prosecuted the case, No. 3:18-cr-233. (Source: U.S. Department of Justice)
