Montana Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Harassing Teen Girl With Sexual Messages and Images

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Montana announced that Truman Frank Jefferson, 50, of Wyola, Montana, was sentenced on Thursday, November 5, to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for sexually harassing a teenage girl over a period of years. U.S. Attorney Scott Twito announced the sentence.

U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided. Jefferson pleaded guilty in May 2026 to attempted coercion and enticement.

According to court documents, in June 2024 law enforcement responded to a trespass complaint against Jefferson at a home in Lodge Grass, where a 16-year-old girl said Jefferson had been sexually harassing her, sending her inappropriate text messages, photos, and videos.

The girl described multiple instances, beginning when she was 14 or 15 years old, in which Jefferson messaged her to come see him and made sexual demands. Investigators recovered messages from Jefferson's cell phone, including a request to perform oral sex on the girl. Jefferson, who was in his 40s at the time, knew the girl was younger than 18.
