Louisiana Man Convicted of Selling Half a Kilogram of Methamphetamine to an Informant, Faces 10 Years to Life

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana announced that a federal jury has found Anfernee A. Rone, 30, of West Monroe, Louisiana, guilty of distributing a controlled substance after a two-day trial. U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller made the announcement.

The trial was held before U.S. District Judge David C. Joseph. Rone faces a minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison. His sentencing is scheduled for January 19, 2027, before Judge Joseph.

Evidence presented at trial involved a controlled narcotics sale in West Monroe. On September 11, 2025, a confidential informant arranged and completed the purchase of approximately one-half of a kilogram of methamphetamine from Rone at a West Monroe-area store, while law enforcement officers surveilled the deal and Rone's residence.

Through that surveillance, officers saw Rone leave his residence carrying a plastic bag containing a large object before traveling to the meeting location. Rone then sold the methamphetamine to the informant, who was wearing surveillance equipment.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, the Monroe Police Department, and the West Monroe Police Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cheyenne Y. Wilson and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Charlotte Farshian prosecuted the case. The case number is 26-cr-00183.
