National WWII Museum Offers Free Admission to Veterans on Veterans Day, with Medal of Honor Recipient Williams to Speak

The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, announced that on Veterans Day, November 11, veterans of all conflicts will receive free admission all day, and the Museum will hold its Veterans Day Commemoration in partnership with the City of New Orleans and the Mayor's Military Advisory Committee.
The commemoration runs from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Time on November 11 in the US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center at 945 Magazine St. The event is free and open to the public, in person or online, with registration. The day's schedule also includes free museum admission for veterans and military from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., a Victory Belles performance at 10:30 a.m., and a performance by the US Naval Academy Glee Club at 12:00 p.m. following the ceremony.
This year's program features remarks from Captain Elmer "Royce" Williams, USN (Ret.), a World War II veteran and Medal of Honor recipient for actions during the Korean War, and the presentation of the Mayor's Military Advisory Committee Veteran of the Year award to Rear Admiral James D. Olson, USN (Ret.). The Museum said the annual ceremony honors all who have and continue to honorably serve.
Programming continues after Veterans Day: the 2026 Victory Ball on the evening of November 13, with Williams as guest of honor, and the annual Family and Military Appreciation Block Party on November 14, which provides free museum admission, entertainment and family activities to all visitors. The commemoration project is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
