Follow-Up: Hours After Divorce News Broke, Jen and Zac Affleck Post Separately for Daughter's Birthday; Zac Reportedly Learned of Filing From News Reports

Hours after news broke that Jen Affleck, a star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, had filed for divorce, she and her husband Zac Affleck each posted on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, November 4, to mark their eldest daughter Nora's fifth birthday. Separately, sources close to the situation told TMZ that Zac learned of the filing only after seeing news reports about it.

Jen filed for divorce on November 3 in Utah County, Utah, together with a proposed parenting plan whose details have not been made public (see GSM's first report). The news broke on Wednesday, the same day as Nora's fifth birthday. According to Page Six, Jen posted a photo of Nora posing beside a new bike in a kitchen decorated with streamers and balloons, captioned: "I can't believe she's already 5." She also posted new ultrasound photos with a heart emoji that day.

Zac shared a video of Nora blowing out candles on a birthday donut while one of her siblings played with a balloon in the background. "Happy birthday Rara! I hope all your dreams always come true," he wrote. In a separate montage he wrote: "Happy Birthday to my baby girl! You have the biggest heart and make everything feel a little extra magical. I love you." Page Six noted that Jen was noticeably absent from Zac's Reel documenting a theme park trip with Nora.

A source told People magazine the exes "are staying focused on preparing for the baby and supporting their kids." Page Six, citing TMZ on November 5, reported that sources close to the situation said Zac found out Jen had decided to end the marriage after seeing reports that she had filed the petition at a Utah courthouse, and that he is now focused on their three children and making sure they are doing OK. Those accounts come from unnamed sources; neither Zac nor Jen has publicly commented on them.

Jen and Zac married in 2019, share three children, and are expecting a fourth, a pregnancy announced in June. Jen is set to appear in the spinoff The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, premiering November 12.
