California State University Reaches Tentative Agreement With Its Largest Staff Union, Covering About 14,500 Employees

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Education · GSM News

The California State University (CSU) announced on November 4 that it has reached a tentative agreement with the California State University Employees Union (CSUEU), the system's largest staff union. CSUEU represents approximately 14,500 employees who provide essential administrative, technical, operational and student support services across the CSU system. CSU said the accord marks its fifth tentative labor agreement. The university's communication did not publish the specific terms of the agreement.

In the same update, CSU said enrollment among military-affiliated students has increased 16.9% since fall 2022, far outpacing the system's overall enrollment growth, and that nineteen federal awards totaling $70.2 million will help CSU campuses strengthen career readiness, prepare students for an SI-enabled workforce and establish regional workforce pathways.
