Rancho Palos Verdes Night Hike on November 14: 1.5 Miles Through Forrestal Reserve at Sunset

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes, in Los Angeles County, California, will host a Night Hike with Open Space and Trails on Saturday, November 14, from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Forrestal Nature Reserve. Participants meet at Ladera Linda Community Park, across from the reserve trailhead, at 32201 Forrestal Drive.
The 1.5-mile moderate hike passes steep red cliffs with ocean views and a sunset. After dark, hikers may glimpse nocturnal creatures the sun never sees — organizers say participants might catch a great horned owl on the prowl or a sneaky gray fox.
Registration is now open at $10 per hiker, for ages 7 and up. Participants should bring close-toed shoes (hiking boots recommended) and water. No strollers, wagons, or outside flashlights are allowed; red-light flashlights will be provided. Weather conditions may result in event cancellation.
