The Vermont State Police reported that troopers stopped a vehicle in Bennington, a town in Bennington County, Vermont, on the afternoon of November 5 and found that the two people inside had a combined three active arrest warrants. Both were taken into custody.

Troopers said that at approximately 5:50 p.m. on November 5, troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks conducted a traffic stop on Overlea Road for an equipment violation. Through investigation, troopers discovered that the operator, Powell H. Miller, 32, of Pownal, had two active arrest warrants, and that the passenger, Kailie C.
