SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Flojaune Cofer held her lead in the race for District 1 on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors as updated counts were released on November 6. As of the November 4 count, Cofer had 22,630 votes, about 52.9%, to 20,139 votes, about 47%, for Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra — a lead of 2,491 votes.
The county was set to release a new round of results on November 6, with final certification expected on December 1; the race has not been formally decided. Known in the community as Dr. Flo, Cofer would become the first Black woman to serve on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors if she wins.
District 1 covers downtown Sacramento and surrounding neighborhoods, where voters have focused on housing, homeless services and public safety. The county elections office notes that counting continues and results are not final until certification.
