San Francisco District 10: Theo Ellington Declares Victory, to Succeed Walton as Supervisor

San Francisco, California — Theo Ellington, a candidate for supervisor in District 10, declared victory on November 5 and will succeed incumbent Supervisor Shamann Walton, whose term is ending. Ellington won about 65 percent of the vote in the final round of ranked-choice voting.
Ellington had led since election night, and the latest count released on November 5, which added 50,062 mail ballots, widened his lead over the other two main candidates.
The San Francisco Department of Elections said 86,700 ballots remain to be counted and that it will update results daily at 4 p.m. through November 13.
District 10 covers the southeastern corner of San Francisco, including Bayview-Hunters Point, Potrero Hill, Visitacion Valley and Candlestick Point. Walton has represented the district since 2018. Ellington was born and raised in Bayview-Hunters Point and has long been involved in community work. The results have yet to be officially certified; Ellington's declaration rests on his lead in the latest count.
