Registered Sex Offender in Saratoga County Charged With Possessing Child Pornography

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York announced that Brandon Quintana, 32, of Greenfield Center, in Saratoga County, New York, has been charged with possessing child pornography. Quintana appeared in federal court on November 3, 2026, and was detained pending a detention hearing scheduled for November 6, 2026, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul J. Evangelista.
The complaint filed against Quintana alleges that on or about July 30, 2026, Quintana possessed child pornography on his cellular phone. Quintana is a registered sex offender based on his prior state conviction for promoting the sexual performance of a child less than 17 years old.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III said another individual believed he could repeatedly victimize children and not face consequences, and that thanks to partners at Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Quintana will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Anthony Patrone, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the HSI Buffalo Field Office, said the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material perpetuates the exploitation of vulnerable children, and that HSI Albany and its law enforcement partners remain steadfast in identifying and investigating individuals who allegedly exploit children online.
Because of his prior conviction, the charge against Quintana could carry a mandatory minimum term of 10 years in prison and a statutory maximum of 20 years, along with a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of at least five years and up to life; he will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release. The charges presented are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The case was investigated by HSI, the New York State Police, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney A.J. Vickey is prosecuting the case as part of Project Safe Childhood. (Source: U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York)
