Friday, November 6, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

Eddie Collier Jr., the suspect arrested on November 5 in the Jackson, Mississippi, nightclub shooting, made his first court appearance on the morning of November 6 in Jackson Municipal Court. Collier, 22, is charged with two counts of capital murder and seven counts of aggravated assault; the judge denied bond on the murder counts and set bond on the seven assault counts at a combined $3.5 million.

The shooting happened at about 1 a.m. on November 1 at the Hideaway nightclub in the 5100 block of Interstate 55 North Frontage Road, killing two people and wounding seven. Police identified the dead as Lovdai Poindexter, 20, and Jada Henderson, 18, a Jackson State University student, both pronounced dead at the scene. It was the second fatal shooting at the club in seven months: on May 17, 19-year-old Alanna Duck was shot dead inside. Jackson Mayor John Horhn said on November 1 that the club has suspended operations pending further investigation, and Jackson State University cancelled undergraduate classes on November 2 and 3.
