An indictment has been returned in a minor trafficking case in Marion County, Kentucky. Attorney General Russell Coleman announced on November 6 the indictment of two people on charges related to trafficking a teenager.
A Marion County Grand Jury indicted James Boswell, 59, of Lebanon with one count of Human Trafficking a Minor, Commercial Sexual Activity (Class A Felony), one count of Human Trafficking, Commercial Sexual Activity (Class B Felony), one count of Use of Electronic Means to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activities (Class B Felony), one count of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, First Degree, Controlled Substance, Under Age 18 (Class C Felony) and one count of being a Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree.
The same grand jury indicted Amanda Sweazy, 43, of Gravel Switch, with one count of Promoting Human Trafficking of a Minor (Class B Felony), one count of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, First Degree, Controlled Substance, Under Age 18 (Class C Felony), Promoting Human Trafficking (Class C Felony) and one count of being a Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree.
The alleged crimes occurred between April and August 2025 in Marion County, Kentucky. Prosecutors said Sweazy recruited the teenager. According to court documents, Boswell forced the victim to engage in commercial sexual activity on two or more occasions.
The Kentucky State Police investigated the case. Assistant Attorney General Barbara Maines Whaley presented the case to the Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth. The Attorney General's office said the Kentucky Supreme Court's rule on trial publicity limits information the office can provide publicly.
The office notes that the charges in an indictment are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
