FBI Arrests 45-Year-Old Brunswick, Ohio, Man on Federal Child Sexual Abuse Charges

A 45-year-old man from Brunswick, Ohio, has been arrested on federal child sexual abuse charges, the FBI's Cleveland Division announced on November 6. Leonard Paul Funk Jr. was arrested at his residence on November 4 by the FBI's Akron Resident Agency together with the Brunswick Police Department, the Medina County Sheriff's Office, the Tiffin Police Department and Pennsylvania's Allegheny County Police Department, and was taken into federal custody; he made his initial appearance in federal court in Ohio the same day, and the federal complaint has been unsealed.
The FBI said Funk's alleged conduct spanned from the Toledo, Ohio, area to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and that he is a registered Tier 1 sex offender with the Medina County Sheriff's Office. He is charged under federal statutes covering the receipt and distribution of visual depictions of the sexual exploitation of minors and the possession of child sexual abuse material. The FBI stressed that a complaint is merely an allegation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
