'Little Rascals' Star Bug Hall's GoFundMe Ahead of Sixth Baby Passes Its Goal Several Times Over — and Draws Backlash He Answers Himself

Brandon “Bug” Hall, 41, played Alfalfa in the 1994 film The Little Rascals. On November 5 he launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Helping the Hall-Barnetts Finish Before Baby Six,” with a goal of $2,000. According to TMZ and The Blast, by November 7 the campaign had raised more than $9,000 from over 100 donations, several times its original target.
Hall, his wife Jill and their five children are currently living in a camper on newly purchased rural land in Arkansas, and their sixth child is due in less than a month. On the campaign page, Hall wrote that the family had made it onto the new land but was a few materials short of having things working right, had run into an unexpected electric hookup service fee, and was behind on phone bills and propane for the camper, hoping to get everything finalized within two weeks. “We're all overjoyed to be where we are, and we're even enjoying roughing it, but baby six is less than a month away, and I really need some help getting the last few things buttoned up beforehand,” he wrote. He added: “I'm no more deserving than anyone else, but I ask in your charity that you help where you can.”
Word of the fundraiser drew pushback on social media. One widely shared post on X asked why the public should pay when having a sixth child and leaving acting were Hall's own choices; others noted that he had already raised several times his goal while people with medical bills and other urgent needs were still waiting for help.
Hall answered the critics himself. To those telling him to get a “real job,” he replied: “Nah. I'm busy building a farm and feeding my family and community.” He told another critic that he has jobs frequently and that he gave up “my dreams” to pursue a better life for his family. He said his immediate plan was to finish the remaining work on the property within two weeks, then take on employment before his wife gives birth.
Hall left Hollywood in 2020 and later moved his family to an approximately 80-acre property near Mountain View, Arkansas, to live off the grid. He has previously said his acting career was difficult to reconcile with his faith and that he gave away most of his possessions and savings. Earlier this year, he was arrested in Ohio for failing to appear in court over a 2024 traffic citation, as TMZ reported at the time.
