IonQ Third-Quarter Revenue Hits $173.8 Million, Up 336%, as Full-Year Guidance Rises to $505-$515 Million

COLLEGE PARK, Maryland - Quantum computing company IonQ (NYSE: IONQ) on November 5 reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, with revenue of $173.8 million, up 336% year over year and a sixth consecutive record quarter. The company raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to between $505 million and $515 million, from $450 million to $460 million previously, and said it expects quantum computing revenue to grow 110% for the year.
By segment, IonQ Platform revenue rose 127% to $90.3 million on global deployments of its Tempo quantum computers, while the newly consolidated SkyWater foundry services segment contributed $83.5 million in its first full quarter. Remaining performance obligations more than doubled to $1.2 billion. Net income attributable to IonQ was $564.0 million, or $1.42 per share, which the company said reflected the non-cash mark-to-market impact of warrants; adjusted earnings per share was a loss of $0.29 and adjusted EBITDA was a loss of $133.6 million.
Cash, cash equivalents and investments stood at $1.7 billion as of September 30, and $3.7 billion on a pro-forma basis after a $2.0 billion equity offering that closed on October 16. Chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi said IonQ is the only trapped-ion company to advance to Stage C of DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, a final stage with a potential program value of up to $300 million, and that NVIDIA will deploy a Superion 256 system as the first on-premise quantum computer at its Accelerated Quantum Research Center. COO and CFO Inder Singh said remaining performance obligations more than doubled even as the company converted backlog into record quarterly revenue.
Recent commercial highlights included a $33 million multi-product contract with SDT to deploy a Superion 256 quantum computer and quantum memory platform, a $25 million contract with Florida International University, and a $28 million DARPA contract for optical atomic clocks. IonQ also completed its acquisition of zero-trust security company Elisity, extending its quantum security platform. Headquartered in College Park, Maryland, IonQ works across quantum computing, networking, sensing and security, and says its quantum computing services have been available through all major cloud providers since 2021.
