Houston Veterans Day Parade Set for November 11: Ceremony at City Hall, March Through Downtown

Houston's annual Veterans Day celebration, Houston Salutes American Heroes, takes place Wednesday, November 11, 2026, in downtown Houston, Harris County, Texas. The City of Houston notes that Texas has the largest veteran population in the nation, with more than 250,000 veterans residing in the Houston area, and that the civic celebration honors service members and their families.
The traditional Veterans Day Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on the steps of City Hall, with a keynote speaker recognizing local heroes. At 11 a.m. - the 11th hour of the 11th day - a moment of silence will mark the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.
The American Heroes Parade then steps off at 11:30 a.m. at Dallas and Bagby, proceeding east on Dallas, north on Louisiana, west on Walker, south on Smith and west on Lamar, ending on Lamar at Bagby. Local veteran organizations, ROTC units, bands and supporters will march, and the parade is open to the public along the route.
The city advises that downtown street closures begin at 9 a.m., including Allen Parkway in both directions between Taft and Bagby and sections of Bagby, and asks drivers to plan ahead. (Source: City of Houston)
