Sunday, November 8, 2026 · Real Estate · GSM News

Redfin's rolling four-week housing data, released November 5, show the U.S. median home-sale price was $388,604 in the four weeks ending November 1, down 0.4 percent year over year. That marks the third straight week of year-over-year price declines after three years of increases.

House hunting activity cooled at the same time. Seasonally adjusted pending home sales fell to 275,484, down 16.4 percent year over year and 0.6 percent week over week, the lowest level in Redfin's records dating back to 2021. New listings fell to 346,795, down 4.6 percent year over year, the lowest level since January.

Asking prices are still rising: the median asking price rose 2 percent year over year to $401,860. The median monthly mortgage payment eased to $2,777, a five-week low, down from a peak of $2,811 in early October.

Redfin's national metrics cover more than 900 U.S. metro areas and are based on homes listed and sold during the period. Its weekly housing data go back to 2021 and are subject to revision.
