Colts Reported to Be in Trade Talks With Multiple Teams Over QB Daniel Jones; He Still Starts Sunday vs. Cowboys

Sunday, November 8, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — On November 7, ESPN and NFL Network, citing league sources, reported that the Indianapolis Colts have opened trade talks with multiple teams over quarterback Daniel Jones, with several teams calling to inquire. Jones is still expected to start at home against the Dallas Cowboys on the 8th, and the Colts prefer to evaluate offers over the next few days before deciding. The Colts have previously fielded trade inquiries about running back Jonathan Taylor as the team heads toward a rebuild.

The Colts are 2-6 this season and fired general manager Chris Ballard on October 19. Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon is still evaluating the futures of head coach Shane Steichen, Jones and others; the evaluation is expected to continue around the November 10 trade deadline, and management is reportedly in no rush to sell off the roster before it. The November 8 home game against the 3-5 Cowboys will be another window for the owner to assess the team.

Jones became the Colts' starting quarterback after joining this season, and the trade talk comes as the league deadline nears and several contenders look for quarterback reinforcements. The Baltimore Ravens had also inquired about Jones but dropped out after acquiring Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. The Minnesota Vikings have also been linked.
