North Lincoln Girls Score Record 18 Points for Seventh Straight 5A Cross Country State Title

KERNERSVILLE, North Carolina — The North Carolina High School Athletic Association's Class 5A girls cross country state championship was held Saturday, November 7, at Ivey Redmon Park in Kernersville, Forsyth County. North Lincoln High's girls won the state title with a team score of 18 points, the best team score in the meet's history, and their seventh consecutive team state championship. North Lincoln's Bella Jaworski also won the individual state title, crossing first in 18:05.49. North Lincoln dominated the day, locking up the title with a record-low score and extending the most commanding title streak in recent state girls cross country. Local coverage noted that North Lincoln's run of titles is nearly unmatched in North Carolina high school sports, with the team topping the championship team standings every year of the streak. Jaworski's individual crown was another highlight of this year's meet. Several classifications raced the same day; 5A is the bracket for the state's largest schools.
