Desi Comedy Fest Comes to San Diego on Nov. 7 With Five Comedians for Diwali Weekend
SAN DIEGO, California — Desi Comedy Fest, the largest South Asian comedy festival in the United States, comes to The Yellow Door Comedy Club in downtown San Diego at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, during Diwali weekend. The five comedians performing are Vishnu Akella, Priya Puram, Elizabeth Aziz and festival co-founders Samson Koletkar and Abhay Nadkarni. Akella has performed at the Netflix comedy festival and has opened for Hasan Minhaj and Ken Zheng. Organizers say this year's national tour has already played New York, Boston, New Jersey, Washington, Chicago and the Bay Area, plus three Texas cities, and the San Diego stop is one of the final five shows of 2026. The venue is at 750 Sixth Avenue in San Diego, with regular tickets at $25 and VIP tickets at $40. The festival showcases South Asian comedians of Indian, Pakistani and Indian Jewish backgrounds, presenting observations on immigrant community life and culture.
