The Houston Botanic Garden announced on October 29 that "Radiant Nature," the popular Chinese lantern festival, will return on November 20 and run on select evenings through February 21, 2027. Now in its fourth season and presented by H-E-B, the festival features a nearly mile-long walking trail with more than 50 larger-than-life, handcrafted lantern installations inspired by nature and Lunar New Year traditions. Visitors can stroll among illuminated poppies, lilies, geraniums and azaleas, along with glowing butterflies, owls and other wildlife. The festival also brings back favorite interactive attractions, including the moonlight swings, the angel wings photo spot and the 3-D pin wall, plus new immersive displays. The garden said the event features a festive soundtrack and food and drinks available for purchase, making it an outing for families, couples and friends after dark. The event is held at the Houston Botanic Garden, 1 Botanic Lane; timed entry runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the garden closes at 10 p.m., and tickets should be reserved online in advance. The Chinese lantern festival has become a Houston holiday-season tradition, drawing many Chinese American families and local residents each year and offering the community a direct window into Chinese lantern culture.
